Today there is fairly rapid development of the automotive industry in Russia, mainly due to the transfer of factories of foreign automakers in the country. Such plants appear more and more, and Russian specialists are working on them. And the requirements for products and production itself at these plants are “typical” as for all motorcar giants. In general, these requirements consist in compliance with their internal corporate quality standards in automobile manufacturing and in compliance with international standards.

Due to necessity of complying with international standards, automakers put forward, in turn, additional requirements for their suppliers. Here there is a concern of Russian companies that want to deliver their products to foreign automakers. For many Russian automotive companies the compliance with the international standards is a fairly big problem, since the vast majority of them are not experienced to supply the automotive components to the foreign manufactures. But compliance with international standards can be achieved, and more and more automotive supplier plants are trying to reach an international level of the production of automotive components.

The first problem faced by Russian companies is to implement the requirements of standard IATF 16949:2016 and its reference manuals. Specialists of LLC “Business Consulting Group” are experienced in the practical implementation of these requirements and maintaining the project in each direction until the final implementation into production and tangible results achievement. In addition to this the help in understanding the specific requirements of certain automakers is needed, the preliminary audit to assess readiness for the certification is required.

There are 5 reference manuals:

  • APQP. Advanced product quality planning.
  • FMEA. Failure mode and effects analysis.
  • SPC.Statistical process control.
  • MSA. Measurement systems analysis.
  • PPAP. Production part approval process.

Although IATF 16949:2016 is a logical extension of ISO 9001:2015, it includes a number of issues that require considerable theoretical preparation for their implementation into production. Despite the fact that sufficient number of schools offer basic education in quality management, they do not address these issues in the automotive industry, and even if they consider them, that without proper practical basis.

This problem inspired LLC “Business Consulting Group” for development of a set of workshops on the requirements of MS IATF 16949:2016, its Russian counterpart GOST R 51814.1:2004, and reference manuals APQP, FMEA, SPC, MSA, PPAP.

Most important is the understanding of the requirements of the standard IIATF 16949:2016, thus clarifying the requirements of this standard is devoted to a separate 5-day course. IATF 16949:2016 requirements are built on the requirements of ISO 9001:2015; they in fact complete the requirements of a universal standard with requirement for the automotive industry.The seminar is structured so as to clarify the additional requirements of IATF 16949:2016 and broaden understanding of the clauses of standard ISO 9001:2015 by audience. To increase the susceptibility of lecture material it is complemented by practical workshops and test tasks and their subsequent analysis, study of errors and misunderstandings. The greatest emphasis in the training is done on dialogue with the audience, as only through dialog can the listener get the answer to his question, and discuss possible solutions to his certain problem. Dialogue with the audience is conducted after each practice; all test tasks are discussed. There is the final test in the end of the course, which confirms the adoption of the material.
